It’s a one-man, true-story, all-rhyming musical, combining comedy and cancer.

Why do you want to perform at Edinburgh Festival Fringe?

Entertainer Jon Courtenay was the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2020 and made history as the first every Golden Buzzer contestant to go on to win.

In his new show ‘Against the Odds’, Courtenay combines music and laughter with the true story of his television triumph - and of his behind the scenes battle to survive a life threatening medical emergency.

What is the last thing you do before you go onstage (apart from check your flies and/or check your knickers aren't sticking out of your skirt, and check for spinach between your teeth)

I sneak my phone around the edge of the wings and secretly take a photo of the audience, then zoom in on people I either want to involve in the show or ones to avoid. I regularly catch people sleeping.

What irritates you? 

People sleeping in the front row of my audience
